Dr. Stan Bohonek has been providing dental care to his patients for the past 25 years. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Case Western Reserve University and his Ohio Dental License in 1987. He opened his private practice in Westlake in 1989.
Dr. Bohonek received his B.Sc. from the University of Toronto and his M.S. degree from Cleveland State University in 1982. His graduate studies involved cardiovascular research in the area of hypertension at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Bohonek was a part time Clinical Assistant Professor at the CWRU School of Dentistry in 1991. In 1992 he received a dental license from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and for three years he also practiced dentistry in Toronto, Canada. In 1995 he decided to devote himself solely to his Westlake practice. He was voted one of “Cleveland’s Top Dentists” in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Dr. Bohonek is licensed by the Ohio Dental Board and his dental license has always been in good standing. He keeps his dental knowledge and his dental skills up-to-date by attending continuing education courses, dental study clubs and by regularly consulting the latest dental literature.
Dr. Bohonek was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia. When he was 17 years old, his homeland was invaded by armies of the Eastern Communist Bloc. His family decided to go into exile and moved to Toronto, Canada, in 1968. As a world-class skater, he represented Canada in men’s figure skating in the 1976 Winter Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria. He is a professional instructor of figure skating and choreographer on ice. In addition to skating he enjoys jogging, swimming, tennis and fencing.
Dr. Bohonek is a skilled visual artist. His favorite medium is pencil or pen and ink. He co-authored a dental health book for children and co-illustrated an oral surgery textbook written by Dr. G. W. Pedersen. Some of his artwork can be seen on the walls of his dental office and for the last several years on his Christmas cards.
Dr. Bohonek brings to his dental practice dedication, enthusiasm, technical and artistic skills. He listens to his patients carefully and takes time to patiently explain treatment plans.
